Ski season is fast approaching and Core Transit’s 2026-2027 Winter Schedule Arrives November 22

After a festive and busy summer, ski season is just around the corner, and we are ready to roll into winter! Core Transit’s Winter 2026-2027 schedule takes effect Sunday, November 22, bringing the routes and connections you rely on, along with a few updates to help navigate the season ahead.
Whether you are heading to work, hitting the slopes, or enjoying what our valley has to offer, now is the perfect time to plan your winter trips. Explore the new winter schedules linked below or visit CoreTransit.org for more information.
As we prepare for another winter season, we at Core Transit thank our community for continuously providing feedback to help us improve our services.
Here’s what you need to know before the winter schedule rolls in:
Highway 6 Route East & West
• Continued service at Freedom Park: The Highway 6 Route will maintain frequent service at Freedom Park, supporting students traveling to and from school, commuters, and other riders connecting through the Edwards area.
• Getting to West Vail: Heading to West Vail? The Highway 6 Route will continue serving West Vail Mall, making it easy to reach local businesses and other destinations along the corridor.
Vail/Beaver Creek Express
• Earlier morning service: The route will now begin service at 6:30 a.m. from Lionshead, providing an earlier option for riders traveling to Beaver Creek.
• Additional boarding locations: The route will now offer boarding at Lionshead and Vail Road, making it easier for commuters and other riders to travel between Vail, Avon, and Beaver Creek.
• Drop-off-only return stops: Return trips will include designated drop-off-only stops at the Vail Transportation Center and Lionshead. Riders can exit at these locations but cannot board during the return portion of the trip.
Minturn and Leadville Routes
• Continuing reliable service: Both routes will maintain their existing service levels for the winter season, continuing to provide connections between Leadville, Red Cliff, Minturn, and Vail.
• More ways to get there: Remember, you can also ride the Leadville Route to Minturn and Red Cliff. Check both schedules to find the trip that works best for you.
Valley Route East & West
• Express service: The winter schedule will continue offering express trips that provide more direct travel options between Vail and communities farther down valley.
• West Vail Mall service: The route will maintain service to West Vail Mall, supporting convenient connections for our workforce and commuters down valley traveling to and from West Vail.
• Catching a flight or heading to work at Eagle County Regional Airport? The Valley Route makes getting there easier, offering a convenient transportation option for travelers and airport employees alike. Just check the timetable for trips serving the airport!
As you plan your winter trips, remember that most Core Transit routes remain fare-free! Fares are required for trips to and from Gypsum and Leadville, and riders can purchase their tickets through the recently updated Core Tickets app, available in the Apple Store and Google Play, which now offers easier navigation and an improved experience.
Your feedback helps us better understand what works for our riders and where we can continue improving. We’ll keep listening and gathering feedback throughout the season to help guide future service decisions.
We hope you are as excited as we are for this fast-approaching ski season and our new Winter Schedule. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, we’d love to hear from you!
